There are many ways to deal with bedbugs; chemical agents and folk methods are used to destroy them. Safe and inexpensive method of killing bedbugs: using high or low temperature. But it is important to know at what temperature the bugs die and what methods of exposure are the most effective and how to apply them correctly.

At what temperature does the bug die
Temperatures of -17 degrees and below, and +50 degrees and above are fatal for larvae and egg laying. Also, for larvae and eggs, it is dangerous to lower the humidity of the air even at the optimum temperature, the eggs dry out, and the larvae die.
Bedbugs adapt well in human dwellings, in such conditions they develop and multiply well. At an air temperature of +18 +30 degrees and a humidity of 70-80% from the appearance of larvae to adults, pass 4 weeks, if the temperature is below +18 degrees, then this period increases to 6-8 weeks. The life span of parasites depends on temperature indicators, at a temperature of +25 degrees they live up to 1,5 years, at +30 degrees the life expectancy is reduced to 1 year.
Temperature methods of dealing with bedbugs
To combat bedbugs, low and high temperatures are used. Furniture and household items are frozen or exposed to high temperatures. Methods are environmentally friendly and efficient, not requiring special costs.
How to kill bed bugs with heat
At home, insects can be killed with high temperature in the following ways:
- treat the apartment with hot or dry steam with a steam generator;
- wash or boil things;
- scald the places of accumulation of bedbugs with boiling water;
- iron with a hot iron.
To combat bedbugs in the apartment use:
- thermal gun;
- steam generator;
- household steam cleaner;
- construction hair dryer.
Freezing bed bugs at home
It is possible to destroy bedbugs with a low temperature if the mattress or sofa, pillows, blankets are kept in severe frost for 2-3 days. Or if we are talking about a house with stove or gas heating, do not heat it in the winter, when there are severe frosts, in order to get rid of parasites. Small items that may contain bed bugs or eggs can be placed in the freezer.
Other Ways of Exposing Bedbugs to Extreme Temperatures
Things, bed linen, which can be washed or boiled at a high temperature, are subjected to such treatment.
