Collembola are delicate, small, wingless insects. They have antennae. The abdomen consists of at least 6 segments. The first segment is equipped on the abdominal side with a tubular pituitary gland, called the abdominal urethra, which serves as a support. On the fourth or fifth segment there are the forks of the talus, and on the third - the hamum, which together form the talus apparatus. Found in damp places, they can be found in plastic tents, sheds, greenhouses and mushroom farms.
Symptoms
They are harmful by biting germinating seeds and developing plants, mycelium and fruiting bodies.
Host plants
Most cultivated plants, especially at the germination and seedling stages.
Control methods
For preventive purposes, thermal or chemical disinfection of soil in greenhouses and greenhouses is recommended, and in field conditions, measures to reduce soil moisture are recommended.
