When and why you need a mousetrap
It is believed that the mousetrap helps to cope with one or two individuals. But in practice, a few scouts may not fall into the trap if the bait does not interest them. It is necessary to put something that will really interest the rodent.
But the mousetrap will be effective even with large volumes of work. It will only need replenish it with baits in a timely manner and free from already caught individuals.
Varieties of mousetraps
For myself, I divide all mousetraps into two types - that kill rodents and leave the rodent alive. After applying both types, the question arises - where to put the rodent.
A rodent caught alive:
- take out and let go;
- leave the pet to live;
- give it to the cat.
Dead pest:
- again, they give it to cats;
- thrown into the trash;
- disposes of in the fire.
Spring | The usual device with a lever and a spring, when the mouse pulls the bait, it dies from the injury received from the trap. |
Cell | Closed design with automatic door that closes when the pest gets inside. |
glue | This is the surface that is covered with sticky glue. Delicacies are placed inside, the mouse tries to grab it and sticks. Dies for a long time. |
Tunnels | These are tubes of tunnels, inside of which there is a thread holding a tool and a bait. The mouse itself bites the thread and thereby tightens the loop. |
Crocodiles | This device is like jaws, inside the bait. When movement starts inside, the mechanism works and slams shut. |
electrical | Inside the device there are sensors for supplying current. They kill the rodent instantly. You need to take it out carefully. |
How to choose mousetrap bait
Food that is placed in a mousetrap should have a pleasant smell and appetizing appearance. It is important that the product is fresh and with a persistent aroma.
Additionally, mice don't mind trying:
- rich products;
- Fish and seafood;
- fruits and cereals.
How to make and charge a mousetrap
There are a number of mousetraps that are easy to make with your own hands. They are easy to perform and can be prepared from improvised means. And if you make the right device - they are no less effective than purchased ones.
